Getting your Sidekick Picks

Log in to Sidekick Stats to get access to your Dashboard which lists all the available picks for the day (or week for NFL). Once our picks have been locked in and posted online you'll see the number of plays made. As soon as picks are available, you'll be notified view email.

Click the Go to picks link for each sport to view the picks for each game.

Sidekick Picks

For each game you'll see a game win probability (currently available for MLB & NHL) and a pick for Over/Under Totals (OU), MoneyLine (ML) and RunLine/PointSpread (RL/PS). These are the plays that we recommend, and that we have placed money on.

Game Win Probability

Compares the Vegas odds to those derived by Sidekick Stats. What we look for is a difference in probability in order to profit from the game.

Odds

The odds listed for each pick are the best odds available (from our affiliated sports books) at the time the picks are locked in. These are the odds that we placed our bet, and the odds that are recorded in our results.

When Picks are Available

Picks are posted no later than an hour before the start of the first game for each sport. Sidekick Stats waits until all the odds, injuries and other relevant information is received (starting goalies/pitchers) before posting picks for that sport. All the picks for a certain sport will be posted at the same time. So we'll post all the NBA picks, and then all the NHL picks, etc.

MLB - posted no later than 12pm EST each day.
NHL - posted no later than 5pm EST.
NBA - posted no later than 5pm EST.
NFL - Sunday picks are typically posted on Saturday, otherwise by 5pm EST.

You will receive an email as soon as picks are posted for that day. If you do not want to be notified, you can opt out in My Account settings.

NOTE: In some cases when there is only one or two late games for a sport, picks may be posted earlier or later than the times stated above. We'll always notify you to let you know if this is the case.

How to Win with Sidekick Picks

  1. Determine your bankroll
Managing your bankroll is the most important aspect of any investing strategy. Whether you like to play just a few games or a full season, it's important to determine a set amount of money you can afford to risk without breaking the bank. The real key to successful sports betting is to be disciplined in managing your bankroll and units bet on each game.

  2. Determine your $ per unit
We recommend setting a unit at 1-3% of your total bankroll. This minimizes the risk involved. We also recommend betting to win a unit on Favorites, and risking a unit on underdogs. For example, a game with odds of -120 should have 1.2 units wagered in order to win 1 unit. A game with odds of +140 should have 1 unit wagered in order to win 1.4 units. This approach is the most beneficial in order to weather out losing streaks and steadily increase your bankroll over time.
The name of the game is discipline and bankroll management, so never increase your unit size in order to bring yourself out of a losing streak. Reducing your unit size can also hinder your ability to climb back from a deficit or losing streak. The goal is to be profitable through the course of a season, not a matter of days or weeks.

How Do We Determine our Picks?

Since 2010, we have been developing computer algorithms using a variety of statistics and methods to determine probable outcomes for sports games. Over the years, our algorithms have evolved using more statistics and advanced machine learning algorithms that are backtested over years of data. It's not just our algorithms that determine our picks, we also take a look at injuries, odds, social media and any other significant events.

We're a team of computer programmers, data science geeks and of course sports fans.
